In this pale and timeless borderland

Not that much is very clear

And there's only one or two things

I really want to know and that's what I'm doing here

I keep trying to get home

But so many of these roads end in cold stone faces

And what I thought were short cuts

Mostly detours through God forsaken places

And I would give anything

Just to walk in the garden with you

For a while in the evening

With nothing else to do

Lay your head down beside me peacefully

Take away the emptiness

Take away the fear

Take away the cursed ahing yearning that put me here

Take away the madness and the longing

Just make it disappear

We'll fill in the missing pieces in our own tired time

I'll pray to heaven that it'll turn out alright

And that the love in our hearts will soften the rough edges of the night

A cage of indecision

Only home I could call mine

And things like choices got a whole lot easier

When I ran out of time

A blaze of miles and years and dreams

Just as fast as I could move

Gravity let me down hard and by good fortune

I landed here with nothing left to prove
