You And Me And The Moon © 2006 by Patrick O'Connor all rights reserved

you and me and the moon

three of us alone hummin' the tune

in the dead of night

and the moon seemed so close

you could reach right up and

touch his face if you like

oh the end it come too soon

for you and me and the moon

now the moon don't climb

so high in the sky as it used to

and the nights are lonely now

he often asks me why

we don't see you round like we used to

and I can't tell him why

just the end it come too soon

for you and me and the moon

since you're gone I've been getting on

sometimes weak and sometimes strong

and I'm mostly sleeping nights

really don't seem so bad

till I feel you peeking through the windowshade

with the pale moonlight
